Devore Shibori Workshop Description: 1 day or 2.5 hour demo
Ever wonder how the elegant devore velvet is made?  It is created by putting on a chemical in pattern, adding heat and dissolving part of the pile of the velvet fabric away. This workshop combines the folding techniques of Shirbori (folded fabric) and devore or fiber etch to create a design on a rayon/silk velvet scarf. We will then use fiber reactive dyes to add a “painted” dye image that resembles watercolors effects. email for lab fee (2 scarves, etch out, dyes, materials)
